We’re currently doing some billing system upgrades that may show some intermittent connectivity to the billing part of our site while these changes are taking place.

We’re moving the billing system to a faster cloud configuration which should provide us some scalability and allow for some additional features that we’re lacking in the current configuration. Changes will be fully propagated within 24 hours, please continue to submit any support or sales requests to the email contacts or give us a call.

ServerOrigin Communications, LLC. would like to thank each of our ethProxy™ customer for a great start in the new year. We have mentioned cloud-based solutions several times over the past few months and how we’d like to integrate our services into a cloud environment. For months now we have been testing like mad! We now have many ethProxy™ clients running within our cloud environments! This is exciting news because now we can offer fully scalable protection across multiple nodes and clusters per customer. Each customer will have their data/IP’s/traffic fully separated from other clients. This improves things in multiple ways but one of the biggest is the ability to separate protection into dedicated resources per client. When we first started we ran into issues where attacks could cause ingress issues on other customers. This is no longer the case.
Now for the big update! We’re offering our ethProxy™ ddos protected virtual servers, fully configured and ready to go! The server offerings will allow for fully scalable cloud-based hosting with the ability to grow/shrink on-demand.  This is not only great for the customer under attack at all times but it’s also great for customers who wish to purchase protection in case of future attacks. We simply configure you a virtual server with full server resources as you would get when buying a dedicated server. We are also planning to offer full server management as well as SolusVM control panel integration.

We did some upgrades to cPanel and Installatron has gotten busted!

We have issues on all shared servers with installatron, please be patient with us. We’re twirling our thumbs waiting on Installatron to answer a support ticket!! We have tried all avenues and we switched from Fantastico for these kinds of issues. If this continues, we will be looking for an alternative.

09:33PM CDT:
Issue is now resolved on all servers. We have rolled back to *Stable* cPanel release. We don’t have all the bells and whistles but all is well again. We’re really wondering the point in cPanel having 3-4 release cycles if only one works :)

We apologize for the inconvenience, RVSkins and Installatron are now functional on all systems again.

01-10-2010 22:30 CDT:

All shared hosting servers will have an update tonight to the next release cycle of cPanel/WHM. This will include all shared hosting servers and all ddos protected shared servers running cPanel. This update is to allow implementation of newer perks/extras that are included with the latest versions of cPanel. Thus far we have delayed moving to a faster release cycle due to issues with incompatibility between RVSkins and newer versions as well as some inconsistencies on configuration between Linux and FreeBSD.

This update will include all servers, including the FreeBSD shared hosting systems. Please submit a support request if you have any feedback or concerns. We’re hoping for this upgrade to be smooth and you may see some delay in connection times while connecting to your cPanel/WHM interface during these upgrades. The upgrades will include upgrades to MySQL and PHP.

12:08 CST:

At approximately 12:08 CST one of our ethProxy routers, which we had a memory issue on earlier in the day, failed. We have a tech onsite doing the hardware replacement as of 12:24CST.

All subscribers that have opted in to our free failover service have automatically failed over to an alternate route. If you have not requested to be configured, please contact our support staff and this kind of issue will not affect you in the future. Sadly, this is part of business, hardware failures happen but this is also why we provide the failover service for situations such as these. Appears an issue with a power failure at the datacenter. Backup power failed to kick-off for the cabinet we’re awaiting an update from the engineer checking to get it back up. This issue is affecting a small number of users.

We are excited to tell you that we have new equipment racked that is owned by ServerOrigin in the Netherlands Ecatel datacenter. These servers are 1Gbps connected with sheer ServerOrigin style, these are fully unmetered. We’re now including vePortal on all new nodes! If you are a current Netherlands/Germany customer and would like to be moved to the new Netherlands nodes, please place a ticket with support@serverorigin.com. This will now allow management for you to backup/restore/rebuild/reboot your own VPS without intervention from support. You can check out the client options available within vePortal on their site at: http://www.veportal.com/gallery.htm

Please understand there is one drawback to the move. We cannot migrate current VPS’ off older nodes due to the architecture differences between HyperVM and vePortal, we have attempted and there are always issues. If you would like to move your data, IP addresses, etc. Please let us know and we’ll get you moved over!

Germany is next: We have new servers being stood up in Frankfurt and should be available by the middle of this week. Once they are available and ready, we will be offering moves to the new nodes which will include vePortal management as well. We have had significant problems in the past several months due to the way we were partnering with other providers to offer services internationally. Due to those issues, we are now shipping our own hardware (New HP DL380 G6’s) to all international datacenters we serve. The servers will be configured with 1Gbps *DEDICATED* unmetered links with full 100Mbps links to each VPS on the node with average speeds planned at 60Mbps during peak times per VPS.
